Description

Rare 1980 Four Nations Wales/England Centenary Jersey etc: Only on rare occasions have the four nations of these islands combined to play rugby against each other, the most recently 40 years ago when the WRU celebrated their centenary, 1980-1. The distinctive, attractive jerseys worn in these are by nature and necessity few and much sought-after. Here is a perfect example, the once-worn, scarlet and bright white quartered jersey with black numbers & large special embroidered badge of the Wales & England side who narrowly beat Scotland & Ireland at Cardiff, captained by the wearer of their No 12 jersey from the game, Steve Fenwick. He was captaining Wales in their 100th year, was for a time to be their most-capped centre with 30, and had played in all four British Lions tests in NZ in 1977. Comes with the programme from that game and three others from Centenary season plus a Wales v NZ 1980 ticket, all signed by Steve. Memorabilia extremely hard to obtain and in marvellous condition, ideal for display
