Extremely rare Allcocks Patent 4” unusual one off prototype Coxon Alloy and wooden and…

Extremely rare Allcocks Patent 4” unusual one off prototype Coxon Alloy and wooden and brass star back reel – 4.25” walnut and brass star back stamped Patent, on/off brass check button, and bickerdyke line guide – London with rare 7/8” narrow alloy see thro’ drum with unusual fretwork pillars instead of the usual brass pillars and stamped Patent close to one of the twin horn handles – spins well – note small chip to the wooden rim near to the brass line guide – unlisted reel – very rare. Note see Mullocks Auctions lot 399 July 2011 - with regards to the spool it’s similar in many ways to both Wadham Engineering and that of the Hardy Improved Ocean reel, experiment or export, no back plate in aligning as in the improved Coxon, so perhaps between both models hence an extremely rare item. Guide £2000-£3000 and sold for £3800. Note: This is part of a private collection starting with 281. Lot 281 to 285 is a single private collection of early and scarce Allcock Aerials from 1890s onwards.
