Sir Colin Campbell as General and Commander-in-Chief, East Indies, Document one page, oblong folio. Camp at Futtehgurh in Bengal, 27th May 1858. Military Commission appointing Thomas Harrison Tod Chalon to be a Lieutenant in the Queen’s Army in the East Indies. Large black printing with manuscript annotations and signatures including Sir Colin Campbell. Size 17½” x 11¼”. Sir Colin Campbell (1792-1863) British Field Marshal who served in the Peninsular and Crimean Wars, was at this time near Allahabad with a Reliving Force making its way to relive the besieged Garrison at Lucknow during the Indian Uprising.
