Island of Guernsey Early Passport 1833 - Issued by Major General John Ross Lieutenant-Governor of Guernsey and Alderney - Made out to a Miss Rachel Roberts aged 22 years. Royal Arms and Governor of Guernsey Arms at top, black printing with manuscript annotations and signatures. Has Franks stamps on reverse stating she was at Granville and Paris. Size 6” × 13¾”. Major General John Ross served in Spanish peninsular with Sir John Moore, the Walcheren Campaign and later in Portugal under the Duke of Wellington Was Governor of Guernsey from 1828 to 1837.
