H Philp dark stained fruit wood short spoon c1840 – elegant hook faced with original horn sole insert with original large plugs c/w original thick hide grip with underlisting – note grain crack repair running through the crown and sole – nevertheless the club is very solid and a fine example of Philp’s work with a good makers clear stamp mark to the crown – head measures 5.75” x 1.75” x 1 1/8”
