Historic Royal Artillery Commission Signed By Lord Raglan & Queen Victoria.” Dated 1852 - Appointing Thomas Lloyd Still to be Second Lieutenant in the Royal Regiment of Artillery. Hand signed by Queen Victoria and Lord Raglan. Large black printing with manuscript annotations and signatures on cloth backed paper, size 15¾ × 12”. Lord Raglan (1788-1855) served with heroic distinction as aide de camp to the Duke of Wellington in the Peninsular Campaigns and was also at the Battle of Waterloo. Later commander of the British Army in the Crimea. A large part of the Royal Artillery went to the War in Crimea.
