Detailing black printing with manuscript annotations and signature of Earl Fitzwilliam with seal as Lord Lieutenant of West Riding of Yorkshire. Size 11¼” × 18¼”. (Earl Fitzwilliam was previously Secretary for Ireland and had supported the American Colonists who as one of the richest men in Britain dominated Whig politics for many years. Sir John Crossley (1772–1837) and his wife Martha Turner. Crossley was a successful carpet manufacturer, whose business “John Crossley and Sons” became a major employer in Halifax).
