Gacy to the front and signed to the reverse, oil on canvas, measures 35.5x45.7cm – depicts Pogo waving goodbye with his right hand, a very rare painting with purportedly only 10 examples commissioned during the week prior his execution in 1994. Note: John Wayne Gacy was an American serial killer who sexually assaulted, tortured and murdered at least 33 teenaged boys and young men between 1972 and 1978. Gacy became known as the ‘Killer Clown’ because of his charitable services at fundraising events and children’s parties where he would dress as ‘Pogo The Clown’.
