Sir Winston Churchill (1874-1965) Historic Letter to Prime Minister Herbet Asquith accepting the post as President of the Board of Trade ‘…I shall exert myself to the utmost behalf of your Administration. It gives me great pleasure to serve you. I am very sensible of the kindness of your letter. When can I see you for a few minutes. There are two or three matters of urgency connected with the Manchester election on which I need your advice.
