17th Century finely executed Heraldic Seals 6x Pen and ink detailed drawings on two leaves measuring 31.5 x 20.5cm approx., of large seals of the Dukes and Nobles of Brabant and others, 1280 and 1298. The Noblemen are shown on horseback, wielding swords, in armour and surcoats with finely drawn coats of arms, shields, banners, helms, crests, lambrequins and horse trappers with armorials and in particular the then novel feature of the ailette. The drawings show different forms of surcoat and armour with accurate portrayals of both these and the coats of arms. The drawings were before 1633 and have manuscript inscriptions in the autograph of Philippe De L’Espinoy (1552-1633) the Brabantian historian.
