Entertainment ‘The Beatles’ George Harrison’s Mantel Clock c1960s in walnut with a sycamore inlay with plastic aperture for ‘two florins weekly’, t/w a (detached) provenance note from Susan Houghton. ‘This clock was given to me as a gift from George Harrison as he no longer required it after buying a new clock for his home Susan Houghton’. With some wear although appears in good condition. Note: Susan Houghton was referred to by George Harrison’s mother Louise as George’s number one fan (extracted from Christie’s catalogue detailed with other items offered from her collection of George Harrison items). These were so called ‘insurance clocks’ as they were given free by insurance companies, especially The Royal Liver Insurance Company whom George’s mother was insured with.
