Mishler, Jack L signed – "Robert Simpson – Carnoustie" 1st ltd ed 2003 in the original leather and gilt boards complete with dust jacket, ltd edition number 21/450, signed and numbered by the author to the front free end plate. Appears unread hence (VG) plus Robert Simpson Carnoustie golf club head stamp (2). Note In 1883, at the age of 20, Robert Simpson was hired as the head golf professional, greens keeper, club and ball maker and instructor for the Dalhousie Golf Club in Carnoustie, Scotland. He remained there until his death in 1923. He won a number of events at St. Andrews and was twice runner up in The Open. History has credited Simpson and his brothers for their influence of few hundred young Carnoustie men who emigrated to the US and for large part responsible for the development of golf in America.
