Political Ideals by Bertrand Russell, published by the National Council for Civil Liberties, no date but 1916, 8vo 12pp, original grey paper wrappers a little soiled and torn but interior contents appear good. First Edition, considered very rare. This was the first of six letters written by Russell as ‘The World as it can be Made’. Because of the proscription of Russell’s activities at this time, it was delivered in Glasgow by Robert Smillie, the miner’s leader who only announced its authorship afterwards. The lectures were apparently first published in England for the first time in 1963. Not in Martin’s bibliography.
