Ephemera – maritime – menus group of approx 19 decorative ms menus issued on board HMS Repulse – the last wooden battleship constructed for the Royal Navy. There is no date on the menus, but the ship which was launched in 1868 was broken up in 1889, and it therefore logical that these were issued during the 1870s/80s. The menus show that for the officers at least, life on board was a good deal better than life ashore.
