1856 ‘Verbatim Report Of The Trial Of William Palmer’ Book First Edition. The trial of the notorious English poisoner at the Old Bailey in 326 page book. Who claimed up to fourteen victims among his family, friends and creditors. At the Inquest on Palmer's fellow race goer, John Parsons Cook, the Jury returned a verdict of murder before Palmer was even arrested. The great wave of hostility against him led to Parliament passing The Palmer Act, making it possible for an accused person to be tried in London if he was unlikely to receive a fair trial elsewhere. Two parts are numbered consecutively - Evidence for the Prosecution and Evidence for the Defence.
