India – Sikh Soldiers in the Indian Mutiny A Fine Engraving of Sikh Soldiers 1857 Serving with the British showing 4 armed Sikh soldier during the Indian Mutiny of 1857. A large number Sikhs soldiers were drafted into the British army after the annexation of Punjab. The Sikh Khalsa army had gained much respect from the British forces during the Anglo-Sikh wars. The British were so impressed they drafted many Sikh soldiers from Lahore and Punjab. From an English periodical 1857. Size approx 16x12.5cm
