Fine Tom Morris longnose short baffing spoon together with an early heavy sand iron c1850 both stamped with the owners initials G.M. to the head of the longnose and both shafts. (2) :- 1) The Tom Morris light stained fruitwood baffing spoon measures 5.75”x 1.75”x 1 1/8” and is stamped with owners initials to the crown and shaft which is fitted with a fine and original thick period hide grip. Note small crack from the toe of the lead cavity to the sole which does not detract from this fine looking club. 2) A fine and heavy sand iron with deep curved concaved face fitted with 4.75” stout hosel with very deep erratic knurling and fitted with the full length hide grip with thick underlisting. The above two early golf clubs are stamped with the owners initials “G.M.”, were possibly the personal clubs of George MacLachlan Capt of Hon Company of Edinburgh Golfers at Muirfield from 1845-1848 and again in 1872/73
