1936/37 England Cricket Tour to Australia engraved silver plated tankard – engraved with ‘The Empire Builder” Bill Copson From A Grateful “Skipper” And Manager Australia 1936-37’ made by Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Company ltd London. Note: William Henry Copson was a right-arm fast medium bowler who played for Derbyshire between 1932 and 1950, and for England between 1936 and 1947. He took over 1,000 wickets for Derbyshire at an average of 18.96, with a best performance of 8 for 11, and was prominent in their 1936 Championship season and also took 15 Test wickets. From 1958 to 1967, Copson was a first-class umpire
