India – Sikh History Princely brass and enamel military badge of the Sikh State of Patiala. A rare military or court badge / medal of Patiala State, depicting a Horse, Lion, Elephant and cross swords complete with shield. The inscription and blue inlay is identical to that used in the Patiala State Order known as the “Nishan-i-Phul” as designed by Spinks and Son manufactured by Gerrard & Co, London & Calcutta, ca. 1925-1930 created by Maharajah Bhupinder Singh of Patiala. Blue enamel inlay with Gurmukhi text which reads “tera ghar mera asay” (your home is my refuge). A rare and unusual badge. Size 7cm by 6cm.
