Rare 1909 Wales Rugby Union Trials Cap – dark velvet cap with gold braid trim tassel crest and date issued to Harry Jarman (H Jarman – name on label) – some fraying to inner lining. Note Jarman went onto be selected for the Full Wales team in 1910 appearing in 4 x consecutive games as well as going on the 1910 British Lions tour to South Africa where he was rated as one of the finest forwards during the tour – he played club rugby for Newport and Pontypool – in 1928 Jarman died a hero~s death throwing himself in front of a runaway coal truck which was heading towards a group of playing children.
