Mullock's Online Auctions

Important Golf
Memorabilia Online Auction Starts this week!

Mullock’s Europe’s Number 1 Sporting Auctioneers are kicking off the first of three major online Golf Memorabilia auctions this week – with two more set to run throughout October.

‘This is an important new feature of our sales and we are expecting considerable world wide interest,’ commented Auctioneer John Mullock who is one of the World’s best known figures in this field.

‘We have been appointed to hold these sales by major clients in the United States and the UK who have recognised our position as the leading specialists in our field.

The first sale will include items consigned by UK collectors and will cover all aspects of collecting from long nose to modern day Calloway E R C clubs, putters and irons, silverware, ceramics, medals, spoons, books, programmes and much much more.

This sale will commence at on Sunday 30th September and run until Sunday 7th October.

The second sale will feature an important collection being sold on behalf of the estate of a private collector. The majority of the high class items were acquired over the period 2003-2004. Many items were from leading auction houses in England and Scotland. There are some fine long nose clubs in exceptional condition including three Philps (ex Donald Steele collection), Tom Morris, Wm Dunn, McEwan, early irons, medals, golf balls, walking sticks, club maker’s tools including a rare and early gutty ball stand for hand hammering gutties.

The sale will also feature other properties including a Jackson long nose putter and later transitionals, a rare R T J and F Q (Bobby Jones and Francis Quemet) stamped iron and much more.

Also featured will be an important private library of an American collector.
Comprising just over 100 lots it includes early 18th century books recording the development of early Scottish golf clubs, golf ball and golf club makers, Scottish Acts of Parliament, as well as golf club histories and other rare editions.

The second auction goes live Monday 8th October and will run Saturday 13th October.

The third online auction will go live on Monday 15th October and run until Sunday 21st October.

This will feature a collection comprising a cross section of golf clubs, the majority from one owner spanning the era from the 1880s-1930s including a McEwan long nose putter, patent irons and putters, a collection of unusual decorative patent irons, scare heads, socket heads, putters, smooth ace irons, plus 3 rare US Masters caddie suits allocated to Woods, Nicklaus and Palmer. In all there will be just over 100 lots.

‘To launch this run of online auctions we are pleased to be acting in conjunction with Sportbilia.com,’ added John Mullock.

‘This new website is the brain child of Simon Jackson and will compliment the new Mullock’s website. Both companies are looking to develop the online auction facility with a view to attracting overseas collectors to offer their collections without incurring costs of exporting items back to England.

John who is a regular visitor to the USA and other major golfing centres around the world is always available to provide advice and valuations and more than happy visit clients wish to sell important collections to advise on their disposal..
