Auction News EXPANSION AND NEW NAME FOR MULLOCK MADELEY Shropshire’s Mullock Madeley – Europe’s number one sporting memorabilia auctioneers – are expanding, and changing their name. From March 1st, the firm will be known as Mullock’s Specialist Auctions & Valuers, a move which will see the company moving into new areas of activity. At the same time, Mullock’s have opened a new office based in Stoke on Trent, and developed comprehensive storage and warehousing facilities. ‘We decided that after 10 years developing the business to the position we have now reached we needed to expand further and move into other specialist areas,’ said Senior Partner John Mullock. ‘The move to open the Stoke on Trent office provides us with a north midlands base which can deal with our expanding business in the North of England, and provides us with facilities for meeting clients and carrying out valuations.’ Mullock’s are well known throughout the world for their successful sporting memorabilia auctions which include specialist sales of golf, fishing tackle, football and other sporting memorabilia. During the past four years the firm has also been running a comprehensive series of auctions of historical documents, autographs and ephemera which have continued to expand. ‘With the expertise we have on board already and our new facilities we are now in a position to branch out into other specialist areas and we are keen to speak with anyone who would like to bring their own specialist expertise into the operation. ‘We had an excellent trading year in 2006 with several of our sales breaking records.
