About Mullocks Specialist Auctions
Established in 1996, Mullock's is proud to be Europe's number one sporting auction house, and home to some of the most prestigious sales including sporting memorabilia, vintage fishing tackle and historical documents. We are centrally-located in Shropshire which enables our expert team to travel throughout the UK to hold auctions and value unusual and unique items and collectibles, as well as large private collections.
Not only are we market leaders in the internet auction sector but our well-established auctions attract top collectors and dealers from across the globe and are widely recognised as the best place to buy or sell your specialist items. We've even screened auctions live on Sky and TV channels worldwide. Our expert, passionate team has almost unrivalled knowledge of its sectors, is rightly renowned for its exceptional customer service, and is on-hand with valuations, advice and guidance as you need it, hence the reason why we've developed long standing relationships with clients and why buyers and sellers visit us time and time again.
So, whether you prefer the atmosphere of an auction room, the convenience of telephone bidding, or the ease of lots streamed live over the internet, Mullock's Specialist Auctioneers and Valuers have the perfect auction for you.
With over ten well-established auctions held every year, our lots are ever-changing but our insistence on quality and our team's expert eye ensures that only the very best, most interesting and most desirable items are put forward for inclusion in any sale. For buyers this means a whole host of tempting lots, and for sellers the benefit of genuine interest from around the world. Our catalogues are produced a full month in advance, allowing maximum exposure and often generating significant worldwide interest.
Mullock's Specialist Auctioneers & Valuers was founded by John Mullock FRICS, FAAV who followed in his father's footsteps by starting his professional life over 30-years ago as an agricultural valuer and auctioneer. After training in London and gaining invaluable experience with a number of highly respected agricultural firms, John held the position of Partner in one of the leading independent general practices in his home region of Shropshire and the Border Counties.
A keen amateur sportsman, over a decade ago John combined this passion with his skill as an auctioneer and launched Mullock's to serve a niche selection of specialist sectors including fishing tackle and historical documents.
Our fishing tackle valuer, John Stephenson, leads this area of our business and as a tackle collector for over 25 years, an author of three best selling books about the specialist art of tackle collecting, John's level of knowledge and passion is unrivalled. He has worked with John Mullock for over 20 years.
Richard Westwood-Brookes - our Historical Documents Expert has a lifetime's interest in history and for many years has been a recognised expert in assessing historical documents in all fields from early Medieval material right up to the present day.
If you cannot attend the auction in person, you can use your computer to bid live in competition with those in the saleroom.
